Everyone's heard of EBay, right? But what about The Saleroom? It's an excellent website that allows you to bid on live auctions without leaving the comfort of your house. I've got it playing in the background as I'm waiting for a couple of lots to come up. It's great because you can wander off and get a cup of tea or do some crochet in between lots.
I think I would rather be in the auction room though. It's fun having a look around to see who else is bidding. But on days like today, when the rain just hasn't stopped, it's quite spoily sitting in the dry. All life will be online eventually I suppose but it loses texture and feeling.
Oh well, that's it, bidding is over for me today and I've managed to buy a few bits with the intention of selling them on. We're doing quite a few vintage & craft markets leading up to Christmas (eek, did i just say the C word already?). Let's hope there are lots of people out there who want to buy interesting and unusual gifts rather then churned out rubbish from China.
Trigger Thumb
All crafters must dread something going wrong with their hands. I've got a bit of trigger thumb going on at the moment which has put paid to my knitting career for a while (sad face). Thankfully I can still manage crochet without too much pain. The nice people at the hospital are going to sort it out for me, I have every confidence, I'll be knitting again before I can say Roy Rogers.
Hazy Lazy Days of Summer
Make the most of them as they are now in limited supply! Only 4 weeks until the open air pool closes, eeeeeek. Right I'm off for a swim, cheery bye.
